German BAUER Group reports the sale of its first deep drilling rig TBA300. The rig was developed by its daughter company BAUER Maschinen GmbH and sold to a drilling company in Venezuela.

BAUER is a big German group that previously has built drilling rigs for shallower depths, but has in recent years, similar to German group Herrenknecht also entered the market for deep drilling rigs.

The BAUER TBA 300 is an electro-hydraulic drilling rig with 300 tons of hook load. It is built for oil, gas and water exploration and exploitation of the geothermal projects.

“With the development of deep drilling rigs we have entrusted our know-how in the production of foundation engineering in the field of drilling deep wells,” explains Professor Thomas Bauer, Chairman of the Board of BAUER AG. “The shortage of raw materials is one of the most pressing global problems of the near future. With our deep drilling rigs, we contribute to solving these challenges and simultaneously opening a new business. “

As a deep drilling rig of the latest generation of the TBA has 300 with its modular design and its components via a hydraulic linkage, which allows a very quick assembly and disassembly. Also, the large investment of converting from a drilling point to the next is facilitated by this technique.

Since its completion, the prototype of the TBA 300 was subjected to an extensive test operation and modified to customer specifications. The drilling rig will be delivered in June, so it can be handed over to the customer in September to begin field exploration drilling in the Orinoco oil field.”
