Canadian developer Borealis GeoPower announces the signing of agreement with First Nations in British Columbia for the Canoe Reach property located south of Valemount, British Columbia.

In a release, Canadian developer Borealis GeoPower announces that “the Shuswap, the Skwlax, and the Simpcw First Nations have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Borealis GeoPower on the development and construction of a geothermal power plant, on the Canoe Reach property, located just south of Valemount, British Columbia. This represents an important milestone in moving the project forward and we welcome our new partners.

The Canoe Reach Geothermal Project is a notional +/- 10 MWe standard hydrothermal project, currently in the midst of exploration and assessment. There has already been community support for renewable energy in the Valemount area and Borealis is eager to move forward with development of the project with First Nations and community involvement.”
