Bottle Rock Power receives extension of 30 year use-permit for Bottle Rock Power plant, a 55MW dry steam geothermal power plant in California.

Following a public hearing with arguments of opponents, the Lake County planning Commission has voted to extend a use permit for Bottle Rock Power to operate geothermal wells in Cobb for the next 30 years.

Bottle Rock Power Plant is a 55 megawatt dry steam geothermal power plant that provides clean, reliable and renewable energy to homes and businesses in northern California.

With initial production start in 1985, the plant has seen a refurbishment and repowering of the steam field with additional development coming back online in March 2007.
