Call for Experts – IRENA/ ADFD renewable energy loan program

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) have issued a Call for Experts for renewable energy loan program.

The joint Project Facility by both parties support replicable, scalable and potentially transformative renewable energy projects in developing countries. ADFD have committed USD 350 million in concessional loans, over seven annual funding cycles, to renewable energy projects recommended by IRENA. The sixth cycle opens for project applications between mid-November 2017 and 15 February 2018.

We are now searching for the appropriate experts to evaluate and shortlist the projects through the sixth cycle. The size of the Panel of Experts has varied from 8 members to 22 in previous cycles. The project screening and technical evaluation of projects by independent experts is an important part of the recommendation process. Experts must have experience in various renewable energy technologies in developing countries, resource qualification, procedures and practices of development funds including economic analysis and financial evaluation of projects, monitoring and evaluation of socio-economic and environmental impact assessments. Experts must sign a statement of undertaking ensuring that they are available for the time period needed for the evaluations (i.e. for the month of March 2018 and July and August 2018), declaring any conflicts of interest and noting that no remuneration will be provided. If you are interested and/or would like to nominate an expert, please fill out the nomination form for experts in Annex 1 and send that together with a CV to adfd@irena.org by end of October 2017.
