The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association will held a conference on international and Canadian mapping with some of the best geoscientists in the world in the field of mapping geothermal resources.

The Canadian Geothermal Energy Association has provided new details about its upcoming conference and workshops that is to take place March 20-22, 2013 in Calgary, Canada.

CanGEA has been able to put together a small conference event (less than 100) focused on the IGA (International Geothermal Association)  mapping protocol and recent geothermal map programs and databases including our recent Alberta Favouribility Map for geothermal development. We have managed to bring in some of the best geoscientist in the world  in the field of mapping geothermal resources; including IGA director Dr. Graeme Beardsmore, former IGA director Dr. Ladsi Rybach, Dr. Maria Richards SMU, Arlene Anderson US-DOE Geothermal Technologies Program) and Dr. Steve Richard, Arizona State University and National Geothermal Database System expert.

Attendees will also  get to hear of current geothermal development projects in Canada including Borealis Geopower’s recent SDTC funding for an innovative exploration project and the work of Canadians in geothermal energy globally.
