CanGEA offers subsidies to Canadian companies for the World Geothermal Congress 2015

CanGEA is applying for funding from Global Opportunities for Associations to subsidize travel expenses for Canadians in attendance. They offering reservations for a fee of $300 until Friday, February 27, 2015 or until funds are depleted.

The World Geothermal Congress 2015 is being held in Melbourne, Australia from April 19-24, 2015. It will be followed by a Self-Energised Market Visits to New Zealand from April 27-30, 2015. CanGEA is applying for funding from Global Opportunities for Associations to subsidize travel expenses for Canadians in attendance. However, GOA funding is a membership perk and subsidized spots are limited. We are offering reservations for a fee of $300 until Friday, February 27, 2015 or until funds are depleted. Reservations are available on a first come, first served basis.   • April 19-24: Trade Show, Conference, and CanGEA B2B Networking Reception (Melbourne)
  • April 27th: Evening social networking event (New Zealand)
  • April 28th: Market visits: Rotorua Power Plant and Waio Taupo Thermal Area
  • April 29th: Market visits: Kawerau Power Plant, Direct Use facilities around Rotorua

*Evening social networking events on both April 28th and 29th.

Participants are responsible for booking their own registration and travel reservations. Subsidies will be distributed as a reimbursement.

Subsidy Details:
Listed below are the individual travel expense types and their additional guidelines:

  • Airfare: Up to 50% of airfare costs. Only the cost of return economy class airfare for the straight route* is eligible. Participants are expected to choose economy airfare and book their own flight.
  • Per Diem: Expenses for accommodation, meals and incidentals, up to a maximum of $200 for each traveler for each working day while traveling to/from the WGC 2015 and market visits to New Zealand.
  • Taxi-bus-car: Up to 50% of your taxi-bus-train fees.
  • Hotel: Included in the per diem.
  • Registration: Up to 50% off of registration fees.

* The straight route is defined as the route between the traveler’s home location and the location of the trade mission without any additional stops/legs/destinations for non trade mission related purposes (layovers or stops are acceptable when they are for the purpose of securing a more economical price).
