The Caribbean state of St. Vincent and Grenadines is exploring geothermal energy as a valid and renewable energy option for the country and will meet with companies that could help in those efforts.

Reported by local media, the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines is exploring several options for utilizing renewable energy, with geothermal being a particularly interesting option.

The local government sees the geothermal activities on Dominica and Nevis as promising examples. Company representatives are expected to visit the country in the coming week to follow up talks on utilizing geothermal energy in the country.

“Next week, a delegation from the Clinton Global Initiative will also be visiting the country to provide technical assistance relating to geothermal power.”
