Celebrating this week its 5th anniversary, ThinkGeoEnergy has established itself as the news website of choice for the global geothermal energy sector. We would like to express our gratitude and thanks for all the support we have received over the years. Thank you.

Five years ago I founded ThinkGeoEnergy in the belief that there was a need for a focused and dedicated geothermal news website. At the time there was no real online publication with such a concrete focus reporting on global geothermal development.

Starting with news from the Caribbean, Chile, Argentina and Iceland back in December 2008, ThinkGeoEnergy has now established itself as the the preferred global and independent news outlet for the geothermal industry.

A lot of things have happened since the start of ThinkGeoEnergy.com. The site has seen two redesigns, an increasing interest by companies using the site for promotion, the development of our weekly newsletter, the establishment of the Spanish language service at PiensaGeotermia.com, the Job Portal, the Global Geothermal Power Plant Map, the Think GEOENERGY Magazine, and the last project The Geothermal Wire, the new podcast series with interviews and more.

ThinkGeoEnergy_overview

By far this is only the beginning. There are many other things we are working on. So your support continues to play a major role. I cannot go into much detail, but be assured there are some exciting things we are working on.

Today, the site is visited by around 650-800 people per day by visitors from around 150 countries (weekly average) and is – described by many – there start website every day.

Testimonial:

The premier resource for accurate, timely, and up-to-date geothermal status updates on current global geothermal companies, development, news and events.

The site is read by all major decision makers in the industry worldwide and continues to break news as they happen.

Promotion:

We now go in our 4th year of providing the premier platform for companies promoting their businesses and services to the global geothermal energy industry. The site provides a number of promotional possibilities that reach a uniquely focused readership primarily among decision makers in the industry. Our Media Kit for 2014 highlights options available. If you are interested in getting the attention your company deserves with key players in the industry, check out our advertisement details.

Your Support:

ThinkGeoEnergy wants to thank the numberless people who have supported us over the years, among them people sending us news, giving us advise, critically accompany our activities, but also first and foremost the companies that have supported our site through an advertisement over the years. Without your support we would have not been able to provide the industry this news platform.

I would like to thank current and former advertisers, among them: Islandsbanki, Scientific Drilling International, ÍSOR, Mannvit, Sierra Geothermal Power, Hannon Armstrong, Verkís, Technip, Iceland Drilling, GeothermEx, Siemens, Power Engineers, Geothermal NZ, TAS Energy, KPMG, Turboden, ACHEGEO, GeoT Engineering, Capuano Engineering and many more.

We continue to need your support and provide you with a unique opportunity to reach your target audience in the industry.

I also would like to thank Green Power Conferences and other conferences that I have worked with over the years. These cooperations on a mutually favourable basis have helped to promote geothermal and report on global development.

I also would like to thank Abraham Ormad, who with his tireless passion, has established PiensaGeotermia.com as the Spanish language service of ThinkGeoEnergy and has helped on the many things we have been working on.

A big thank goes also to the technical support received over the years, particularly the past year through WeDO, but also Gummi Sig on the first real design of the website in the first Redesign of the site in 2010 and the renewal in 2012.

But I will be eternally grateful for the great support on all matters related to design from my sister, Linde Richter. I am so proud of you and thank you so so much for all your help over the years. The logo, the website materials and much more have been created by her. Thank you.

On a personal level I have to thank my family that have to survive a husband and father that seems to live and breath geothermal 24 hours a day. Accepting the craziness of running the ThinkGeoEnergy startup is nothing I take for granted.

But there are many individuals, who have helped over the years with articles, advise, pictures, promotion or generally just general support and their friendship, who have helped on so many levels. Your support has been invaluable in the establishment of ThinkGeoEnergy.

I am very grateful to have enjoyed such great support from all of you, so a large Thank You to all of you.

I am very much looking forward to another 5 years being part of this exciting industry. There are lots of challenges ahead, but the opportunities are so much larger, so lets continue our path to establish geothermal energy as a valid energy option worldwide.

With kind regards,

Alex(ander) Richter
