The Roseau Valley geothermal project in Dominica has finished the drilling stage and will soon proceed to purchase turbines and other equipment.

The Roseau Valley geothermal project in Dominica is moving forward since the drilling operations performed by Iceland Drilling have officially come to an end.

The country’s Energy Minister, Ian Douglas mentioned to a local newspaper that the following steps imply the purchase of the turbines and other necessary equipment to proceed with the eventual establishment of a power plant. The minister is very pleased with the current development and with the assistance the country is getting since “he noted that in terms of the project, the government has been in consultation with DOMLEC and Independent Regulatory Commission (IRC) at every stage.”

It is expected that the project will go online in 2017.
