Earthquake close to The Geysers
Earthquake at the Geysers.
A 4.2 magnitude earthquake shook a remote area of eastern Sonoma County at 9:27 this morning, according to the U. S. Geological Survey.
The temblor occurred 13 miles east of Cloverdale in the Mayacamas Mountains, two miles southeast of The Geysers, a geothermal development. There were no immediate reports of damage, and no calls to the Sonoma County sheriff or fire departments. A smaller earthquake of a 2.0 magnitude occurred in the same area at 7:30 a.m., according to the USGS.
