EDC has opened their 11th arboretum for propagation of native tree species in Cebu City as part of the BINHI reforestation program

Energy Development Corporation (EDC), as part of their BINHI reforestation program, has opened a new arboretum in Cebu City, Philippines. The arboretum will be used to grow and propagate native tree species such as narra, mangkono, and molave.

The new arboretum is a joint effort of EDC with the University of San Carlos (USC) in Talamban and Knowles Electronics Corporation. While EDC will provide seedlings and technical assistance for their care, USC has provided the permanent designated area for the arboretum, and will support promotional activities with the funding from Knowles.

This will be the 11th arboretum established since 2008 by EDC, the leading geothermal power producer in the Philippines.
