The geothermal power plant will be installing a brand new genset and the unit will be shutdown staring today for a month as scheduled.

As expected, EDC will switch off the third unit in the Bacon Manito geothermal field as scheduled for the substitution of the turbine generator for a new one. The expected shutdown time is of one month and ti will commence today.

According to a news source: “The Bacman power facility — which straddles Bacon, Sorsogon and Manito, Albay — consists of two 55-MW plants and a third 20-MW unit.

The two 55-MW units were shut down in March last year due to vibration issues that damaged the second unit of the plant, but the first unit started running at its full capacity last February.”

As reported by ThinkGeoEnergy, the second unit in the BACMAN complex went online.
