Chairman of the Energy Foundation of Pakistan (EFP) says to be looking for investment in order to produce up to 10,000 MW of electricity through geothermal means

At the moment, Pakistan suffers from an energy crisis, importing up to $15 billion in oil in order to feed power plants to generate electricity is very costly for the public finances, especially when considering that the country is rich on geothermal power.

The Chairman also explained that there is an approximate 200,000 MW of untapped green energy in the country and that it would be advisable to change from traditional methods to these.

…. in an earlier version we had reported that there are two geothermal plants in Pakistan, but this is not correct and we have corrected the article. Thanks to the ones notifying of this error.
