Renewables and geothermal are a sound and growing investment for EGP, specially on Latin America.

A local Chilean news source highlights that Enel Green Power (EGP) has given details regarding their strategic growth plan for the period 2015-2019, were the firm will be allocating investments totalling 8.8 billion euros for renewables, of which 53% will be invested in Latin America. The figure is equivalent to about USD 9.64 billion and of these, USD 5.1 billion will go to Latin America and on Non Conventional Renewable Energy Projects.

Many of these projects correspond to solar and hydro projects, but they also include the construction of the first geothermal plant in South America, Cerro Pabellón a 38 MW plant in Chile in which the European conglomerate has partnered up with Enap to develop.

This is a clear signal that renewables are a safe and attractive investment and that Latin America is a renewable powerhouse to be developed.
