Eight Icelandic geothermal firms in cooperation agreement with Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

Reported in Iceland, “leaders of eight leading Icelandic geothermal firms have signed an memorandum of understanding to cooperate on geothermal projects overseas. The agreement includes Reykjavik Energy, the three largest engineering firms, Verkís, Mannvit and Efla, Iceland GeoSurvey and the architecture firms T.ark and Landslag.

The goal is to open new ways for companies to provide their knowledge of geothermal energy development to this increasing industry worldwide.

This cooperation agreement is an extension of the previously signed agreement between Reykjavik Energy and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries signed in April 2010. (reported on ThinkGeoEnergy on April 15, 2010)

This general agreement is a cooperation agreement, but will include specific agreements for individual projects.
