The technical secretary of the presidency, Roberto Lorenzana foresees a huge increase in geothermal power generation in El Salvador.

The technical secretary of the Presidency, Roberto Lorenzana, today highlighted several achievements in the first year of government of Salvador Sanchez Ceren in El Salvador, which laid the strategic foundations for economic takeoff of the country.

El Salvador seems to finally have come out of the slump. The country had from 2009 until 2014 negative GDP growth, and forecasts now show that there will be a positive GDP growth of 2.5% at the end of this year.

In an interview with local television Mr. Lorenzana stated that investments in geothermal energy have already taken off and he expects an increase of 40 percent in geothermal generation in the country.
