Four companies bidding for geothermal EPC contract at Los Azufres, Mexico

Companies bidding for the EPC contract for the planned Los Azufres geothermal plant in Mexico, are Mitsubishi, Alstom/ Iberdrola, Acciona and Seselec, and Senemex.
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) in Mexico is soon expected to provide the results of a tender held for the construction of a new geothermal power plant at Los Azufres in Michoacan, Mexico.
There are four international groups that have provided financial bids that are currently reviewed.
The companies participating are Mitsubishi consortia with an offer of $69.8 million, Alstom/ Iberdrola with $74.9 million, Acciona and Seselec with $95.14 million and Senemex with $93.5 million.
The tender is for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the project (EPC Contract).
CFE has several geothermal projects, the Chichonal, San Antonio Bravo, Negritos, and Tulecheck Cuitzeo Lake.
The planned Michoacan Los Azufres plant is expected to supply electricity to the Bajio region of Mexico.
