With climate meetings starting today in Paris, France, there are several geothermal events taking place throughout those days, and you can find the schedule here.

As world leaders are arriving today for the climate meetings in Paris, France, hopes are great that there will be some break through in negotiations on how to deal with climate change.

A lot of countries and corporations have made announcements on their targets for CO2 reductions and renewable energy development. With its capabilities to provide clean, sustainable and base-load power, but also heating, geothermal energy is well positioned to play an important role in those discussions.

So it is great to report that there are several meetings taking place organized by several groups, like associations, countries and international organizations.

The following schedule is a summary prepared for by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC). Several geothermal representatives will be in Paris during these days and represent geothermal energy and its potential. In the coming days we hopefully will be able to connect with some of them.

The International Geothermal Association will be involved in events around REN21 and you can meet Marietta Sanders, the Executive Director of the Association there.
