Enel Green Power has taken its Geothermal Exhibition to Bogota, Colombia showcasing the geothermal experience of Italy. Next stops are Mexico and Peru.

After the initial exhibition opened in Chile, Enel Green Power has now taken its Geothermal Exhibition to Colombia. ‘Geothermals, the Italian energy from from the earth’s core’, is showcasing the experience of Enel Green Power in geothermal energy utilisation through photos and videos.

The exhibition is held at the Javeriana Pontifical University in Bogota, Colombia, and is one of the initiatives of the Year of Italy in Latin America promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The photographs allow visitors to understand, experience and discover the principles of geothermal energy, a clean energy drawn from the depths of the earth. The exhibition, that comprises not only pictures but also amazing touch-screen images and videos, closes November 21st.

EGP has also organised a workshop focusing on geothermal energy, while explaining the technology and funding models, in addition to describing Enel Green Power’s geothermal model for sustainability and the resource’s potential in Colombia and in the region.

‘These initiatives are a great occasion for spreading knowledge on geothermal energy – explained Salvatore Bernabei, country Manager of EGP for Chile and the Andean countries – an energy that has been developed in Italy for over a century. In Colombia, a country with great geothermal potential, visibility should be given to this renewable resource that can contribute to the diversification of the energy matrix’.

The Enel Green Power exhibition is based on three pillars: ‘seeing, knowing, learning’, and aims to both raise awareness of geothermal energy and bring people into contact with the renewable and clean energy source from an early age. In Colombia, despite the Country’s great potential in this field, geothermal energy, which is generated by the Earth’s heat, is not widely known. The exhibition will also be held in Mexico and Peru, supplemented with other activities, notably seminars, workshops and internships in Italy for students.
