Geothermal hailed as best renewable energy source for heating for Poland

In a recent TV appearance, Artur Michalski, Vice President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Poland hailed geothermal energy as the “cleanest and best renewable energy source.” He stated that:  It may not be the cheapest, but it is the best. If this technology were popularized and our predecessors of this geothermal energy did not stop, it would probably be cheaper” in the program “Polish point of view” on TV Trwam.

Artur Michalski pointed out that geothermal energy is the best renewable energy source that improves air quality.

“Geothermal energy is the cleanest and best renewable energy source. It may not be the cheapest, but it is the best. If this technology were popularized and our predecessors of this geothermal energy did not stop, it would probably already be cheaper. At the moment, we have launched programs related to geothermal energy and more geothermal plants are being created in our country, in various provinces and everywhere where there is access to these geothermal waters underground, because it is over one or two kilometers or even three, and some wells even more – pointed out the guest of TV Trwam.”

It is the best renewable energy source – the politician emphasized.

“Because it is a completely non-emission, waste-free source, it does not interfere with the landscape, because only the hot water pipe protrudes from the ground. It is uncontroversial, socially acceptable, and above all it is very stable and available when we wish it. Such geotherms in the country have already been created and function, including Geotermia Podhalanska, and thanks to the “Lux Veritatis” Foundation and the commitment of Redemptorist fathers, we can boast of geothermal energy in Torun, which also has great parameters” said Artur Michalski.

Local governments are an important element in the construction of geothermal energy.

“It should be emphasized that geothermal sources are rather the role of local government. They should be created in those cities where it is possible, but we also have problems with clean air. Geotermia Podhalanska has been operating for 25 years and is such an example of well-functioning geothermal energy. If we have more than 40 percent from geothermal energy power supply, it is as if 400 large coal wagons were entering Zakopane and had to be burned there during the heating season. This clearly reflects what scale it is -summed up the guest of the “Polish point of view.”
