The first step in the development of geothermal energy in the region will be landmarked by the creation of a Geothermal Park in the City of Tomohon.

Local news from Indonesia inform that local Governor SH Sarundayang signed an agreement with Trevor Matheson, the New Zealand Ambassador for the development of geothermal energy in North Sulawesi.

Governor SH Sarundayang expressed that the creation of this park will be of great benefit for education, technology and tourism purposes

“This will provide support for the development of geothermal energy in Indonesia, North Sulawesi and Tomohon in particular” said the Governor.

Details regarding the start of the project are unknown for the time being.
