D&S Geothermie - a daughter company of German drilling company Daldrup & Söhne AG, is planning to start the Geretsried project, which it took over with the assets of Geysir Europe, including Exorka and Enex Germany.

Reported by the German Geothermal Energy Association, D&S Geothermie – a daughter company of German drilling company Daldrup & Söhne AG, is planning to start the Geretsried project.

In July 2009, the company bought 51% of Geysir Europe Energy, the German daughter company of Icelandic Geysir Green Energy, which includes the development companies Exorka and Enex Germany. Both companies held 13 exploration concessions (Erlaubnisfelder) in the Bavarian Molasse Basin in Germany.

D&S Geothermie is favouring the development of Geretsried, where the Icelandic Enex already had invested about EUR 2 million in studies and the actuall drilling pad. It now plans to proceed with the development.

The neighbouring field, held by A.I.R. Geokraft is also planning to go ahead and this company is now looking for a suitable spot for drilling, which is expected to start in 2010.
