Spinning somewhat out of control, the geothermal energy sector is receiving some attention from a rather unexpected angle. The sister of newly wed Kate Middleton, who married Prince William last month, just started a new job – with Cluff Geothermal, a geothermal firm in the UK.

She is, so the gossip papers “working for a geothermal energy firm run by longtime friend (and rumored ex-boyfriend) George Percy, the U.K. Mirror reported.

“Pip and George are really close friends so when he needed someone to help out with office stuff, she was the obvious person to ask. She’s enjoying getting stuck in to something new,” a source told the British tabloid.

Percy, who has been friends with Middleton since they were in college, is the son of the Duke of Northumberland. He joined with mining magnate Algy Cluff to form Cluff Geothermal, which will begin drilling later this year, according to the Telegraph.

The company signed a deal with a French cement giant to test if hot water stored underground can be turned into heat and electricity.

“What we’re doing is very different from other geothermal projects,” Percy told the Telegraph.
