Government grant for feasibility study in Cheshire, UK

Cheshire East, a borough south of Manchester in England, UK has been awarded a grant of around $330,000 for initial feasibility studies on geothermal development for heating and power.
The council of Cheshire East just south of Manchester in England, UK has announced that it has been awarded a grant for geothermal feasibility studies of GBP200,000 ($330,000).
Provided by the UK Department for Energy & Climate Change, it will pay for feasibility studies into the exploration of deep geothermal in the Leighton area of Crewe.
According to Michael Jones, council leader, the feasibility study is to verify potential benefits of extracting hot water of more than 100 degrees Celsius from depths of around 5,000 meters.
If successful, there might be the possibility to utilize that water for district heating, but also for generating electricity utilizing binary power generation technology.
