Join the 4th IGC Turkey Geothermal Congress & Exhibition this week in Izmir. With an exciting program and high profile speakers, it provides fantastic networking opportunities and an update on the Turkish geothermal market, its challenges and opportunities.

Held for the fourth time again this year, IGC Turkey has been a key event on the agenda for the Turkish geothermal sector. With its tremendous growth over the last 5-10 years, the country has left a mark in the sector internationally.

With now around 1,600 MW of installed power generation capacity it is ranked no. 4 in the rankings of the top geothermal countries in the world and is part of the 1 GW club of countries with more than 1,000 MW.

“When we started IGC Turkey in 2016, Turkey had an installed capacity of 690 MW, so you can say we accompanied more than 1,000 MW in development with our event held in the heart of Turkey’s geothermal energy sector in Izmir.”, so Dr. Jochen Schneider of IGC.events/ Enerchange one of the organisers of the event.

For this year’s event starting this week, more than 200 participants fare already registered from all segments of the sector with all key operators in attendance, as well as suppliers , investors and banks supporting the sector.

With a fantastic program and high profile speakers, the event promises again to be a great success.  This year’s event is again organised with great partners, such as JESDER, the Geothermal Power Plant Investors Association, and the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC). EGEC will feature a specific GEORISK workshop on risk mitigation mechanisms for geothermal development.

The program features an update on market development and technical challenges and solutions in different forums on financing & support mechanisms, environmental impact and handling of CO2, electricity generation, heat utilization, future perspectives for the market, and reservoir management.
