Labour leader Ed Miliband has pledged to create one million green jobs as part of a 10-year plan to make Britain a global leader in clean technology and renewable energy.

During a recent Labour Conference in the UK, Labour leader Ed Miliband has pledged to create one million green jobs as part of a 10-year plan to make Britain a global leader in clean technology and renewable energy.

According to Mr Miliband, the UK is lagging behind other Nations and needs to step up its game regarding lowering carbon emissions and developing renewable energy.

The news source, Edie Energy also provides the reactions of the Industry to the claims done by the Labour leader. One is particularly interesting for our industry; a comment done by, Dr Nina Skorupska, CEO of the Renewable Energy Association (REA):

“Large-scale renewable heating projects can also make a big dent in the emissions and energy costs of UK homes and businesses, whether it’s a housing development connected to a geothermal district heating scheme or a factory using biomass for industrial processes.”

This last month we have seen the gaining of traction for geothermal district projects in the UK and a roundtable on district heating in Brussels.
