The Icelandic International Development Agency (ICEIDA) invites Expressions of Interest for the following consultancy: “Feasibility study and Preparation of a Concept Note for an African Geothermal Centre of Excellence“

The Geothermal Development Company (GDC) is a state-owned company, formed by the Government of Kenya as a Special Purpose Vehicle to fast track the development of geothermal resources in the country. Under the ICEIDA/NDF Geothermal Exploration Project, ICEIDA and GDC have established cooperation for support to geothermal development in Kenya with a focus on capacity building. As a part of this cooperation a feasibility study will be initiated to ascertain the feasibility of establishing an African Geothermal Centre of Excellence in Kenya.

The specific objective of this assignment is to ascertain the feasibility of establishing a regional geothermal training centre in Kenya, and prepare a concept note with recommendations on key aspects of establishing such a centre, including, institutional set-up, operational model and long term sustainability. The assignment shall be conducted through a consultative process and with input from key stakeholders, as well as a review of relevant documents and studies.

ICEIDA, as the Client for the contract, now invites eligible, experienced and qualified companies from any country to express interest in being shortlisted to submit proposals for the contract.
