Foreign Minister of Iceland Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson met withcounterpart Vitalii Grygorovskyi and discussed the possible collaboration of both countries exploiting the geothermal potential in the Ukraine.

During a visit to the Ukraine, the Foreign Minister of Iceland Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson met with the Deputy Head of the Ukrainian National Agency on Ensuring of Efficient Use of Energy Resources (NAER) Vitalii Grygorovskyi and suggested that Iceland could be of assistance on mapping the geothermal potential of Eastern European Country.

According to local Icelandic news, “Gunnar believes there are opportunities for harnessing geothermal energy in western Ukraine. Help from Icelandic experts in the field, along with that from specialists from other countries, such as Romania and Hungary, can prove important to Ukraine in determining the next steps.”
