LaGeo confirms its commitment to increase geothermal power generation in El Salvador in accordance to the country's goal for the role of renewable energy in its energy matrix.

With the aim of diversifying the energy matrix, injecting greater amounts of clean energy, the president of LaGeo, Lic. Mynor Gil, confirmed, during a visit to the Ahuachapán Geothermal Power Plant that will give greater impetus to the generation of green energy.

Gil, during the visit he made in June 2019, said that”it will work to boost the production of the white gold” for the benefit of El Salvador Development ”.

The work approach of the new LaGeo administration is due to compliance with the guidelines set by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, who said that it has begun with the change of the energy matrix with a new commitment to renewables.

At the end of 2018, of 100% of the national energy matrix, LaGeo contributed more than 23%, that is, almost a quarter of the energy generation that the country produces.

Earlier this summer it was reported that the 8 MW expansion of the Berlin geothermal power plant by LaGeo has been assigned to Italian ORC technology supplier Turboden.
