Oxford Business Group has published an interesting interview with Johnson Ole Nchoe, Managing Director and CEO of Kenya’s Geothermal Development Company.

In the interview he talks about the risk in geothermal development and how GDC was founded to remove that initial risk by drilling, confirm resources, generate steam to supply to power plants and carrying out feasibility studies to increase project bankability.

He sees independent power producers (IPPs) as an important element in the construction of geothermal power plants in Kenya.
