The ITB Geothermal Workshop by the Institut Teknologi Bandung is kicking off this week with a series of great presentations, technical sessions and workshops. Looking forward meeting meeting friends and colleagues this week for several meetings and our IGA Workshop.

This week, the 2018 ITB Geothermal Workshop is taking place in Bandung, Indonesia. Organized by the Institute of Technology in Bandung, the event has established itself as a key technical event for the sector bringing together a wide range of representatives from industry and academia.

The event features an exciting program for its plenary session on Day 1 and a wide ranged series of technical presentations on Day 2, as well as several pre- and mid-event workshops.

The workshops are held by Leapfrog (Seequent), Schlumberger, ITB Geothermal Master Program, IAGI (Ikatan Ahli Geologi Indonesia / Indonesian Geology Association), and the International Geothermal Association with UNECE.

See the full Program of the Workshop.

I will be representing IGA in the workshop with a presentation on 2025 Trends for the Geothermal Sector and very much looking forward sharing my views on where the geothermal sector is moving, but also to follow the great efforts by IGA, UNECE, the World Bank, IRENA and others on “A universal classification framework for renewable energy sources: application of UNFC-2009 to geothermal energy” (workshop details).

I am very much looking forward to fruitful discussions and meeting the drivers of geothermal development in Indonesia.
