The Geothermal Resources Council is seeking to fill the position of the Executive Director of the Association, to carry out educational and other services as a public forum for nearly 1,600 GRC members and worldwide corporate interests in geothermal energy development.

In an announcement of the Geothermal Resources Council, the association announces the opening of the position of the Executive Director of the Association.

The Geothermal Resources Council is a worldwide non-profit association, “dedicated to development and utilization of clean and renewable geothermal Energy”.

The Executive Director is to “carry out educational and other services as a public forum for nearly 1,600 GRC members and worldwide corporate interests in geothermal energy development. The GRC is an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Corporation.

The Executive Director is responsible to the GRC Board of Directors, overseeing office operations and staff, budgets, government grant administration, GRC Foundation administration, publications and website management, meeting planning, and public relations. The Executive Director will spend a significant amount of time developing relationships with members of the geothermal community, government agencies, other allied associations, legislators and public. Working with the President, the Executive Director helps guide the activities of the Board of Directors including dissemination of information vital to decision making and service as Secretary. Qualifications for the position of GRC Executive Director include:

BS degree (MS preferred), in the sciences, engineering, the environment, public administration, or the equivalent.

Strong leadership, personal and personnel skills. Established relationships in the geothermal community is a plus.

Minimum 5 years non-profit association, public outreach and public relations experience, basic accounting skills, and familiarity with administration of government and private grants.

Proven communications skills, including writing and publications experience, meeting deadlines, editing, proofing, design and layout, and comprehensive computer experience with Windows-based programs.

Proven experience in meeting planning, including technical program development for workshops and annual conventions, working with hotel staff, and comprehensive logistics.

Experience working with outsource providers of meeting services, publication design and printing.

Excellent communications and speaking skills, before both large and small groups.

Experience with the political realm, including information dissemination.

Experience with geothermal academic programs and industry knowledge of geothermal resource exploration, development and production.
