The largest annual geothermal industry gathering, the GRC Annual Meeting & GEA GeoExpo+ is starting this week in Sacramento, California.

In less than a week, from October 23-26, the geothermal event of the year – the 40th GRC Annual Meeting and GEA GEOEXPO+ – will take place in the City of Trees: Sacramento, CA. Geothermal leaders, developers, and exhibitors will come together to exchange expertise and take part in sessions geared towards geothermal development, education, and expanding opportunities at home and abroad.

The GRC Annual Meeting will feature over 40 hours of technical presentations, posters, workshops, field-trips, a plenary session, networking events and more.. The GRC Opening Session on Monday morning, October 24 will feature distinguished speakers in geothermal energy and legislation, from California, the U.S. and from around the world.

The GRC Annual Meeting this year supports the theme “Geothermal Energy – Here and Now: Sustainable, Clean, Flexible” highlighting the important role and values of geothermal energy today. “This will be the 40th year the GRC has brought together the US and international geothermal community,” said Steve Ponder, GRC Executive Director.

Occurring in conjunction with GRC’s events, GEA’s Trade Show Hall will feature approximately 100 diverse exhibitors spanning the range of geothermal interests, with new technologies and emerging opportunities in the industry on display. In addition, a new exciting feature of the GEA GEOEXPO+ is the industry-tailored Marketing Forum. Sessions, led by key players like the IADBKfW Development Bank and Global Geothermal Alliance, will cover everything from development operations in nations with high geothermal potential to Agency Briefing Sessions with the US DOE GTO, USAID, IADB, USTDA, Ex-Im Bank, World Bank-ESMAP, and OPIC. Mark your calendars for the Exhibitors Leading Innovation Session and the topical USEA-East Africa Geothermal Partnership Event.

GEA’s GEOEXPO+ is also facilitating the brand new Agency Matchmaking Sessions. In this unique opportunity, company representatives meet one-on-one with representatives from IADB, USTDA, OPIC, Ex-Im Bank and ITA. Meetings will be arranged prior to the event. RSVP to rani@geo-energy.org by Wednesday, October 19th.

This ultimate geothermal event occurs in tandem with the release the GEA International Market Update, available at: http://geo-energy.org/reports.aspx. “The report shows strong market growth which should make for an exciting Expo,” said Karl Gawell, Executive Director of GEA.
