The newly inaugurated plant of Bagnore 4 provides green energy and also jobs for local businesses and families that has a very positive effect in the region, making locals urge Enel to keep developing geothermal in the area.

The global economic crisis has had an impact in all regions, but some areas, such as the Italian region of Amiatta has been especially hit by the downturn.

Many local small and medium companies have greatly benefited from the recent work done on the Bagnore 4 geothermal plant that has been recently inaugurated (See Link – ThinkGeoEnergy), with a local newspaper citing as much as 350 jobs directly tied to the project.

Despite some concerns and skepticism regarding the impact that the new geothermal power plant could have had, the local businesses are urging Enel to keep developing geothermal resources in the region, since it provides jobs and income to companies and families in the region, that otherwise would see their options severely limited.
