The Nevis Island Administration is currently in discussion and due-diligence with several players on a possible take over of the Nevis geothermal project, after the previous developer was stripped of the concession.

Local news from the Caribbean report that the Nevis Island Administration is currently in discussions with several potential developers that might be taking over the Nevis geothermal project.

This despite any ongoing legal dispute with West Indies Power, the previous developer of the site. Earlier this year the government cancelled the concession of West Indies Power due to the lack on progress on the project.

The government is not saying if West Indies Power is among the groups it has discussions with on taking the project forward. It can be assumed that there are a few interested parties to develop geothermal projects in the Caribbean and in Nevis.

Earlier test drilling on the island of Nevis has shown great potential for the development of a geothermal power plant on the island.

Question is if it will be developed in small steps or right away with a large plant and potential export of electricity as part of it.
