The Public Services Company of New Mexico (PNM) issued a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable energy and/ or accompanying renewable energy certificates.

Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) issued a request for proposal (RFP) for renewable energy and/or accompanying renewable energy certificates (RECs) on November 18, 2013.

PNM is seeking to purchase renewable energy and associated RECs or RECs only from one or more qualified respondents, equivalent to a maximum 150,000 MWhs per year that were or will be generated after January 1, 2013. RECs can be from any source of renewable energy, as defined in the RFP.

PNM will consider offers for asset purchases or purchase power agreements.

The “RFP is an “all-source” solicitation for proposals of any type of qualifying renewable resources. Qualifying energy or RECs from any renewable
type can be used to fulfill the overall renewable procurement requirement.” Geothermal energy is explicitely mentioned. The power can be produced in New Mexico or being made available for delivery in New Mexico.
