With four ongoing pre-qualification rounds ongoing for a tender for geothermal working areas, Indonesia is on track to offer an additional four areas up for tender in 2016.

We have been reporting on the efforts of the Indonesian government to push forward with the allocation of several geothermal working areas this year.

There are the following working areas being either already released in a pre-qualification round or are expected to be opened this year (2016). The linked areas are those that have been released under a pre-qualification round.

This represents working areas with an estimated total power generation capacity of around 575 MW.

These are greenfield geothermal tender pre-qualifications, which are located across various provinces of the country. Some of the tenders may have a “right to match”, after the conduction of preliminary site surveys on behalf of PLN.

The ceiling feed-in-tariffs of those areas range from $0.15-0.226/ kWh. Details are available via the Geothermal Directory of EBTKE.
