Orka Energy signs new cooperation agreement with Shaanxi province for further development of geothermal district heating systems in this province of 38 million people in China.
Orka Energy announced the signing of a new agreement with the Shaanxi province in China. Orka Energy holds a minority stake in Sinopec Green Energy Geothermal Development Co., Ltd, a developer and operator of large scale geothermal district heating projects in China.
The company has been working in this province with a population of 38 million people on district heating projects mostly in the municipality of Xian Yang, the capital of the province. The company also works in Hebei province and has interest in additional projects in the region. The agreement now entails additional development in Shaanxi province.
Earlier this year, the company announced having drilled in excess of 100 wells for its district heating projects in the country.
