PannErgy reports record sales from geothermal heating plants in Hungary

Hungarian PannErgy reports record daily heat sales from its geothermal plants at Miskolc and Györ in Hungary. The relatively mild-temperatures provide a great basis for demand and delivery.
Hungarian geothermal firm PannEnergy reports record heat sales this month. The relatively mild winter weather does favour heat sales from the geothermal projects operated by PannErgy Group, and consequently on 16 February 2016 the Miskolc and Gy?r systems delivered a combined volume of 6,488 GJ to its contracted partners, which has been the largest value of its kind so far.
In view of the particular characteristics of the Geothermal System of Miskolc and Gy?r, cloudy weather with temperature ranging from +4° to +7° Celsius during the daytime offers the most favourable temperature circumstances for heat sales.
If temperature outdoors remains in between 2° and 8° Celsius, then daily heat feeding values are prominent, because the system reaches its maximum capacity under the given weather circumstances owing to the low, 49–50°C temperature of the district heating system of Miskolc and Gy?r returning from the consumers. When the outdoor temperature is under the said range, the returning temperature increases, and as the temperature of the production wells is nearly permanent, capacity drops.
“Heat delivery from the geothermal systems has reached a peak that has never been measured before, due to the optimum operating technology created during the implementation of the investments. Looking at the weather forecasts for the upcoming days, we expect to remain near this outstanding daily heat feeding performance achieved, or even go beyond that moderately” – stated Balázs Bokorovics, Chairman of PannErgy Plc’s Board of Directors.
