Philippine Basic Energy Corporation (BSC) is looking for partners in the development of the Mabini, Batangas geothermal area, a potentially 20 MW project, as it doesn't have sufficient funds to develop the project on its own.

Earlier this month Philippine news reported that Basic Energy Corp. (BSC), as one of the publicly listed firms in the Philippines engaged in renewable energy, has not sufficient funds to finance its project at Mabini, Batangas geothermal area.

The company initially disclosed the project and its search for partners back in April 2010, for this field with a capacity potential of 20MW. The infrastructure already in place, with transmission lines in proximity the project could be developed within 2-3 years.

There really seem to be all major corporations in the Philippines interested in the energy space and heavily invest, Aboitiz Power, EDC/ First Gen are already heavily involved.
