The Premier of Montserrat recently talked about the big hopes in geothermal his Caribbean island state has and how it could bring new business options.

In a recent press conference, the premier of Montserrat talked about how geothermal could potential change a lot for his island state.

In Montserrat, and other Caribbean island states such as Nevis and Dominica, there are hopes that geothermal energy would provide an own energy source for those islands and help decrease the high energy bills to its citizen and businesses.

Geothermal is therefor a big hope for Montserrat as it would also provide a number of new business options that have so far not been available to the island.

The geothermal drilling rig from Iceland Drilling has arrived in Montserrat, and it is hoped that geothermal resources are be found and can be developed for an initial 5 MW geothermal plant.
