PSALM has announced that seven companies have qualified for the IPPA auction for the nearly 110MW of power generated by Mt. Apo 1 and 2 geothermal plants.

In a statement from PSALM, the Philippine Government company said that the following groups have qualified for the selection as the Independent Power Producer Administrator (IPPA) of the output of the Mt. Apo 1 and 2 geothermal plants:

  • EDC Mindanao Geothermal Inc;
  • FDC Misamis Power Corp;
  • GDF Suez Energy Philippines Inc;
  • SMC Global Power Holdings Corp;
  • Therma Southern Mindanao Inc;
  • Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp; and
  • Vivant Geo Power Corp

“Based on the evaluation conducted by Psalm of the documentary deliverables that it received from the prospective bidders, and as approved by the Privatization, Bids and Awards Committee, only 7 investor groups have qualified to participate in the Mt. Apo 1 and 2 IPPA auction scheduled on September 24, 2014,” Psalm president and chief executive officer Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr. said

The successful bidder will take control of the power generated by the Mt. Apo plants, generating 54.24 MW each.

Interaksyon also details that the deadline for the submission is set on September 24, 2014 at noon.
