PT Geo Dipa and PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) announce collaboration on the development of the small-scale 10 MW Dieng geothermal project in Indonesia.

In conjunction with the Indonesia International Geothermal Conference & Expo (IIGCE) this week, a collaboration between state-owned geothermal company PT Geo Dipa Energi (Geo Dipa) collaborates with the state-owned financing company, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), to develop the Dieng small-scale 10 MW Geothermal Power Plant was announced..

Finance Director of Geo Dipa M Ikbal Nur and the Director of Project Development and Advisory of SMI Edwin Syahruzad signed the agreement during the event on September 6, 2018.

“This collaboration is a realization of the synergy between State-Owned Enterprises as one of our strategies to develop the capacity of the Dieng Geothermal Work Area, Central Java,” Ikbal said.

Ikbal who is also Chairman of IIGCE 2018 expressed his hope to get full support from the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Finance, so that investors will be more confident to develop renewable energy, especially geothermal.

“With the support of synergy between the ministries, the developers will be more aggressive in accelerating the development of massive geothermal projects,” said Ikbal.

Until the end of 2018, it is expected that the geothermal generator capacity will increase from 1948.5 MW to 2 GW with the construction of several plants that are currently in the completion stage.
