PT GeoDipa wins Indonesia Best Electricity Award 2018 in the social responsibility category

State-owned geothermal energy company PT Geo Dip Energi was awarded the Indonesia Best Electricity Award (IBEA) 2018 in the category of electricity corporate social responsibility.

“Geo Dipa will cotinue to grow, and develop with the community by creating a harmious relationship with the surrounding environment,” said Finance Director of Geo Dipa, M. Ikbal Nur in a written statement in Jakarta yesterday.

According to Ikbal, the company was also a finalist for the category of Best Power Plant with a capacity of less than 200 MW.  Ikbal explained that Geo Dipa has four main community development programs, namely Geo Dipa Peduli, Geo Dipa Maju, Geo Dipa Pintar and Geo Dipa Hijau.

“Through these four programs, the target of Geo Dipa is not only to achieve sustainable business growth but to improve the lives of local residents (as well,” Ikbal said.

With the award received, the company is alos committed to contribute better to the community aroudn the field of its geothermal power plant in the future.

“Our presence must provide the widest possible benefit, and meet expectations iwth stakeholders in this country, and the most important thing is the surrounding community,” he said.

IBEA 2018 was held by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, National Energy Council (DEN) and PT PLN on 14-15 November 2018. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar giving awards to 42 finalists and winners from various categories.
