PT Indonesia Power pushes forward on renewables generation strategy in Indonesia

PT Indonesia Power has awarded international consulting and engineering group Pöyry a 3-year framework agreement contract to support the company's vision becoming a renewable energy focused power generation company in Indonesia.
In a release today, international consulting and engineering company Pöyry announced that “PT. Indonesia Power has awarded the company with a three-year Framework Agreement contract for a number of different types of renewable power projects across Indonesia.
The assignment includes wind power, solar PV, battery storage and different renewable hybrid plants together with diesel or gas engines.
Indonesia Power, a subsidiary company of PT. PLN, operates and maintains more than 10GW total power generation assets throughout Indonesia. These assets consist of coal fired power plants, hydro power plants, combined cycle power plants and geothermal plants. Indonesia Power has now launched a vision to become a green power generation company and a pioneer in the electrification of the Indonesian archipelago where an abundance of renewable energy resources can be found.
This is the second framework agreement sealed between Indonesia Power and Pöyry in recent years. The first agreement, encompassing conventional thermal power projects, was signed in April 2016. Indonesia Power has now expanded the coverage of the framework to cover renewable projects, initially starting with four renewable energy projects across Indonesia. It is envisaged that the framework will contain about 40 different combinations of different types of studies including wind campaigns that will help Indonesia Power to execute its projects quickly and efficiently.

The value of the order is not disclosed. The order will be recognised within the Energy Business Group order stock in H2/2018.”
PT Indonesia Power is a subsidiary of PT PLN. Indonesia Power’s Kamojang Generation and Generation Service Unit manages 7 units of Geothermal Power Plants with a total power generation capacity of 375 MW. The plants are operated by three (3) Sub Units namely Kamojang PLTP (3 Units) in Bandung Regency. PLTP Drajat (1 Unit) in Garut Regency and Mount Salak PLTP (3 Units) in Sukabumi Regency.
In addition to the UPJP Kamojang managing the plant owned by Indonesia Power, the Company also manages PLN’s O & M services, namely at the Ulumbu geothermal power plant with an installed capacity of 4 x 2.5 MW.
