Russia to join the International Renewable Energy Agency

The Russian Energy Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Finance Ministry were tasked with completing the necessary arrangements to join the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

In a brief comment from an official Russian government website, the Russian Federation will join the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), according to a publication of a document on ordering the arrangement of the country’s accession to the organization.

“Accession to the International Renewable Energy Agency will give the Russian Federation a wide access to the existing practice of using and implementing renewable energy sources, results of the latest studies and will allow [the country] to participate in the elaboration of international a standards, as well as to influence the renewable energy sector’s development worldwide,” the document says.

The Russian Energy Ministry, Foreign Ministry and Finance Ministry were tasked with completing the necessary arrangements.
