Technicians from the city of Punta Arenas in the Magellan-Antarctica, in Chile, visited the installations of geothermal plant of Hunosa in Northern Spain, looking to replicate the project in their home country.

A delegation of public workers alongside with other technicians from the city of Punta Arenas in the Magellan-Antarctica, in Chile, visited the installations of geothermal power generation Hunosa in Northern Spain, to analyze the possibilities to implement this formula of clean energy management in the southern end of the Andean country.

The delegation -composed by Mario Pascual, councilor and chairman of the Environment Committee of the Municipality of Punta Arenas; Marcelo Velásquez Kroeger, deputy technical director and Fernando Imaray advisor for Environment of the aforementioned Town Hall- visited the geothermal well Barredo in Mieres.

Hunosa engineers, Juan Enrique Álvarez Areces, head of New Developments; and Belén Garzón, geothermal project manager were responsible for demonstration of the contents of the project that takes advantage of the temperature of the water flowing into the well Barredo to supply heating and cooling to the new regional hospital Alvarez-Buylla, a health center and the local university campus.
