PT Supreme Energy expects to start development of its 80 MW Muara Laboh geothermal power project this year.

In news report by Rambu Energy in Indonesia, PT Supreme Energy is set to be targeting the start of construction fo the 80 MW Muara Laboh geothermal power plant project later this.

The project located in South Solok in West Sumatra is one of three projects currently being developed by Supreme Energy. While the Muara Laboh project has a planned capacity of 80 MW, the Rajabasa project 220 MW and the Rantau Dadap project a planned capacity of 86 MW. They are still in exploration stage.

For the Muara Laboh project, the company has signed a PPA with PLN for a price of $0.13/ kWh. Exploration for the project started in 2008 with several wells drilled so far. With an initially planned 220 MW development, the project is now expected to provide for 80 MW of capacity. The overall investment is expected to be around $130 million.

The Rantau Dedap project is a joint development by Supreme Energy, GDV Suez (now Engie) and Marubeni, with an overall investment volume of around $700-800 million.
