Turkey describes possible contribution to development in Djibouti and Africa Dora 2 Geothermal Power Plant, Turkey

During a Djibouti-Turkey Business Council the president of Turkey, Mr. Erdo?an stated that closer ties with Africa will be made and mentioned that both Djibouti and Africa have plentiful geothermal and renewable resources to develop.

In his speech at the Djibouti-Turkey Business Council, President Erdo?an emphasised that Turkey will continue to stand by African countries in all platforms and said: “Embracing Africa has a meaning beyond trade or business for Turkey.”

President Erdo?an said that Djibouti produces its electricity at a high cost, that there are various areas of investment in the country and the geothermal and wind power can be utilized. Expressing that wind turbines can be constructed to utilize the powerful winds of the ocean and that steps can be taken on solar power, President Erdo?an said: “These projects will reduce the energy costs in Djibouti. Happiness is defined in the world as ‘the more a country consumes electricity, the more prosperous that country is’. We must provide these means for our Djiboutian brothers.”
