Professor Rosalind Archer, Department Head of Engineering Science at the University of Auckland and Mighty River Power Chair in Geothermal Reservoir Engineering received prestigious award naming her the Energy Engineer of the Year in New Zealand.

With the nomination alone Rosalind Archer, Professor / Department Head, University of Auckland for Energy Engineer of the Year of this year’s Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards in New Zealand, she already achieved a lot. Now with actually winning the award, she was recognized for her role in geothermal energy as part of her role in the University of Auckland.

The award has been given for the standout engineer working in the New Zealand energy sector defined by their achievements for the 12 months to 31 March 2016 and or culmination of achievements up to that date.

This category was open to individuals working for New Zealand energy sector organisations such as retailers, generators, network companies, pipeline owners, oil/gas explorers and producers.

Rosalind Archer joined the Engineering Science Department at the University of Auckland in 2002 as a lecturer. Before that she had been an Assistant Professor in the Petroleum Engineering Department at Texas A&M University.

She has research interests in reservoir engineering in geothermal and petroleum reservoirs. Rosalind holds the Mighty River Power Chair in Geothermal Reservoir Engineering.
